Wendy is a former diplomat with a lifelong passion for the arts, cross-cultural exchanges, and a love of art and silk painting, which she has practised for over 20 years. She believes art and culture enable us to communicate across all boundaries and languages. She now enjoys sharing her passion for silk painting by making it enjoyable and accessible to everyone - those seeking a relaxing and creative form of self-expression, as well as those wishing to add new skills to their fine art or textiles portfolio.

What Wendy loved most about her diplomatic career was the intercultural exchange it presented, which she continues to enjoy through her studies of techniques from around the world.  She studies and uses techniques from Japanese Shibori and Suminagashi, Indonesian and African batik, Turkish and European marbling in her work that includes painting, mono-printing, and mixed media using oils, acrylics, and watercolours.  Nature, abstraction, and serendipity drive her creative process. Through her developing practice, she aims to explore the potential for contemporary abstract painterly expression in silk painting, which is an ancient art form.

Also an experienced EFL teacher, Wendy has taught hundreds of clients from around the world, including students embarking on art and other studies in the UK and others preparing for IELTS and other exams. In all of her teaching, Wendy provides personalised guidance, support, and inspiration to empower each student to set and achieve their own objectives.
